Awe Struck Wonder

People will let you down from time to time.

A while back, I was preparing to speak at a women’s conference. I was very excited to invite one of my closest friends to come hear me speak.  She told me she couldn’t come, because she wanted to go hear Beth Moore speak via a telecast.   Ironically, I was speaking on the power of Godly friendships. The enemy really began to beat me up.  He began to whisper destructive thoughts in my ear.  I felt unrecognized in that moment. I felt not good enough. I felt over looked by my friend.

Then suddenly God broke every chain of self-doubt.

Four little life changing words shattered my insecurity in a matter of seconds.  He whispered; I know your name.  It was a moment of awe-struck wonder.  I was in awe that the God of the universe took time to notice me.  When you think about the highest power in the universe,  knowing your name, it changes you on the inside.

Suddenly my perspective changed.

I didn’t care who was or wasn’t there.  I never asked that friend to come to any more of my speaking engagements.  It simply didn’t matter to me anymore in comparison to my God connection.  Something changed inside me.  The presence of God inside me was stronger than the insecurity around me.  The truth is God is enough for me. When you experience the power of God, you don’t seek it out from others.

Maybe you too have been rejected, overlooked, forgotten, or snubbed.

Today, I really want you to get this life changing and awe-struck wonder truth that God knows your name. Read this a few times.

When man rejects you, God accepts you. When friends betray you, God stands with you. When a spouse cheats on you, God draws closer to you.  When relationships crumble God restores your soul. When words wound you, God empowers you. When you feel discouraged, God will encourage your spirit. In the presence of God, you find identity and worth.

Stop focusing on getting the attention of those who reject you.

Put all your energy into getting the attention of God.  Nothing, no one, no job of importance, no position or platform, no promotion, no amount of money will ever satisfy you as much as being in the presence of the most-high God. Take a moment to absorb this simple truth, He knows your name.
