The Toy Maker

Have you ever gazed at one of those baby toys with the shapes? You know the one where you have to put the square into the square, the triangle into the triangle, and the circle into the circle. Well, one day I was just wasting time, and I thought I would see if I could squeeze and force a triangle into a circle. I applied a lot of force.  I tried to manipulate the object.  I even tried to outsmart the creator of the toy.  The end result, it’s not possible.  The toy creator did not design a triangle to fit into a circle.

Are you trying to outsmart your creator?  God created and designed us to get our needs met from Him alone.  You can try to manipulate relationships or force “things” into that space in your heart, but the truth is it will always leave you disappointed and unfulfilled.  You see the maker of your heart and soul specifically designed you for a relationship with Him.  You were created to connect with God.  He designed human beings so only He could satisfy their soul.  Only He can make you complete.  Only He can help you experience true happiness.  Only He can fill that void in your life.  Only he can bring contentment and peace. Only He can fill those small holes in your heart. Only He can be God to you.

Let’s examine why things and people never fill the void. We are always longing for more or something new or something different, because things and people don’t satisfy. Have you ever wanted that new outfit so so bad only to get it and feel let down?  Have you ever wanted that job promotion so bad only to get it and still find yourself longing for more?  Have you ever wanted to be in a relationship so bad only to later feel lonely in that same relationship you desired?  Have you ever tried food, pills, or alcohol to mask pain only to still feel an emptiness inside you after the thrill wore off? Did you think marriage would finally be the cure for happiness only to feel unhappy yet again when the honeymoon phase was over?  Your spouse was not even meant to be God to you. They were meant to be your partner, help mate, friend, but not your God.  We think money, relationships, lust, fame, and things will finally make us happy, but we are always left wanting more. Nothing and no one can satisfy that longing in your heart, but God. Those other things and people will always disappoint, and leave you longing for more. You can only be satisfied through a relationship with God. Why is that? Stay with me here and you’ll discover why.

You can’t manipulate or force things or people to fit in your heart, because your creator didn’t design those things to fill your soul.  Just like the toy creator didn’t create the triangle to fit into a circle, God didn’t create your soul to be satisfied with anything but the presence of God.  You were created, designed, and destined for a purpose and reason.  Remember a triangle does not fit into a circle.  Only  a triangle can fit into a triangle.  Only God can fill that space in your heart. You can keep trying  to fill your soul with money, lust, fame, alcohol, job promotions, houses, cars, relationships, but the end result; it won’t work. Connect to your creator and start experiencing true contentment, joy, and peace that passes all human understanding.
